Yesterday I went and bought myself one of those cute little Asus Eee PCs…. I even managed to get a much coveted black one which – no word of a lie – positively turned the little sales guy green with envy!!! I’ve been having problems sitting at my desk with my back all stirred up the way it is, and so I’ve been using Yale’s laptop for the last few weeks so I can get use my heat packs but still do useful stuff like research the plethora of drugs I’m taking, read blogs, chat on the MSN, check emails and troll the internets to stave off the inevitable boredom that come from being laid up. I’ve been having lots of fun setting it, getting used to the OS and relearning how to type on the itty bitty keyboard. I thought it was going to be a bit of a bother typing on such a small keyboard, but it’s actually kinda nice to have a keyboard that’s been made for people with small hands, so I’ll be up to speed in no time.
Now I’ve got a little ‘puter of my own with a Linux operating system so no doubt I’ve probably gone up a notch or two in the geek stakes whether I like it or not. In truth the geekiness points probably started racking up when I took on the job with Goliath as a Wireless Broadband Consultant, but I am still happy to report that I remain totally ignorant when it comes to the Star type questions (Wars and/or Trek) and have never read comics in my life, so I doubt I’ll have to worry about ranking any higher than this…. š

Scratch what I just said, I just popped into the code for that little banner to delete the advertising tag at the bottom of it and well…. you don’t get any geekier than that… I’m doomed. š
