If recognizing who you really are causes you no regrets and no pain, perhaps you can hope for someone who likewise accepts you as you accept yourself.
You can grow relationships with the appearance of love whilst hiding your true self, but can anyone be truly happy being something they are not? True love requires we expose our selves… and not just the good stuff…. all of it – nasty habits, idiosyncratic character, disgraceful past and unacceptable proclivities. It’s only in unreserved acceptance of all of you, that truer more enduring love can occur… It may not be the love you expected from the brochures, but it will be honest.
If someone is aware of all that lies beneath your armour and yet loves you still…. hell, someone probably already does love you for who you really are. Anything else is a lie.
No one is no one….
